TECHNICAL DIRECTOR B.U. CASA

“I feel lucky because I love different things about my job, but the most important one is the opportunity to continuously learn.”

What is your role at Bormioli Rocco? Briefly describe what you do.

Good morning everybody. My name is Luca and I am the Technical Director of B.U. Casa (Home).
What is a Technical Director? It is a figure with a proper technical education and background who organizes and coordinates the working groups of the technical area as far as the design and the process and product development are concerned.

How would you describe your path at Bormioli Rocco?

I arrived in Bormioli Rocco backed up by an intense experience at another business in the glass field. Here I had the opportunity to start a path which I would define of constant growth in the technical, managerial, human fields. I had the opportunity to learn from true masters and to test myself by holding positions more and more extensive and complex.

What do you like about your work?

I feel lucky because I love different things about my job, but the most important one is the opportunity to continuously learn. The multiplicity and diversity of projects I manage and the unpredictability of the problems I am daily faced with – dealt with in a humble way – account for a true resource.

What principal added value does your activity offer to the Bormioli Group?

To answer this question I believe it would be better to mention the example of a football team: a team only wins if it has honest players who run and apply themselves, and a coach who keeps the whole team united and inspire them. This is exactly what I try to do…

Why would you suggest that someone work for Bormioli Rocco?

I mainly address those who have a technical background: the glassware is an industrial business where sand enters and stem glasses packed and ready for a tasting exit. This means it is a full-spectrum industrial process where we have the possibility to see all which is the manufacture world with our own eyes from raw materials to packaging, from product development to plant maintenance. Why just Bormioli Rocco? Because it is the most complete among all glassmakers!

Describe briefly what Bormioli Rocco means to you and to your professional career (as to opportunities, acquired know-how, working environment, people etc…)

Bormioli Rocco has put me in a condition to grow both from the professional and human point of view thanks to a dynamic, yet at the same time people friendly environment. You know, I believe this is a backbone of our company, which is international, yet deeply rooted in the territory: it is still a company where with a couple of phone calls in the night, one is able to put together a team of professionals who leave, deal with, manage and resolve an emergency.
